Assignment 2 - Part 1

Research the Rwandan Genocide of 1994 and understand what were the horrible things that happened. Use the three web-sites given to have a good overall understanding of the main developments leading to the terrible human tragedy. Over one hundred thousand people died in just 100 days. That's one thousand person murdered a day.

Present your main findings to the class (you decide on the timing!) Here are the questions that you need to touch on for your presentation:

1. Provide a summary of the Rwandan Genocide. It may be useful to include things such as historical time lines, a profile of the main players in the conflict and its impact on the country.
2. Using what you had learnt from your group's research, present the KEY reasons that led to the conflict becoming full-blown.
3. What do you think were the most important reason OTHER THAN RACE in this conflict.
4. What were your group's thoughts/opinions after having done this research. You can also comment on any thing/point that you had unearth that you can link to your understanding of our society here in Singapore.
