Assignment 2
Research the Killing Fields in Cambodia and understand what happens when a terrible tyrant rise and there's no means to stop this individual politically. Use the three web-sites given to have a good overall understanding of the main developments leading to the terrible human tragedy. Analyse why and how the Khmer Rouge came to power..

Present your main findings to the class. Here are the questions that you need to touch on for your presentation:

  1. Provide a summary of the Cambodian Killing Fields. It may be useful to include things such as historical time lines, a profile of the main players in the conflict and its impact on the country.
  2. Using what you had learnt from your group's research, present the KEY reasons that led to the conflict becoming full-blown.
  3. What do you think were the most important reason OTHER THAN RACE in this conflict.
  4. What were your group's thoughts/opinions after having done this research. You can also comment on any thing/point that you had unearth that you can link to your understanding of our society here in Singapore.
